Blood Mage: Episode 1 — The Escape is the main long-term Blood Mage game currently being developed in GameMaker.

Current development areas

A custom retro first-person engine
Connected dungeon levels
First-person exploration and real-time combat
Raven's movement, resources, weapons, and Blood Magic
Health, mana, stamina, food, and water systems
Doors, keys, secrets, gates, and hidden passages
Enemies, searchable corpses, loot, inventory items, and survival mechanics
First-person hands, weapon animations, spell effects, HUD elements, and menus
Story screens, level progression, intermission presentation, death screens, and Episode 1 completion
Artwork, enemy animation, dungeon assets, sound effects, and gameplay testing

The current priority is building and polishing the existing engine and Episode 1 foundation rather than constantly restarting or changing direction.

Blood Mage: Descent — Playable Now

Free and playable now in a web browser.

Blood Mage: Descent is an official standalone top-down action game set in the Blood Mage universe. It was created as a free playable experience that allows visitors to enter Raven Bloodletter's world while the larger first-person Blood Mage project continues development.

Descend through twelve dungeon depths, battle wardens, use melee attacks and Blood Magic, search hidden chambers, and survive the gothic ruins beneath Al'Dainia.

Blood Mage: Descent is not a replacement for Blood Mage: Episode 1 — The Escape. It is a separate companion game with different gameplay, while preserving the Blood Mage world, hero, tone, and visual identity.

StarLore Universe

StarLore: Fox Ren's Star Trial

The free opening chapter is playable now and remains in active development.

StarLore: Fox Ren's Star Trial currently has a complete playable four-location opening chapter. The current Trial includes Emberleaf, Azure Moon, Ironclaw Station, and Eclipse Gate, along with turn-based battles, story encounters, dialogue, player choices, Honor, Health, Energy, rewards, Star Seals, saving, and a complete Trial conclusion.

Development continues from this working foundation. The current four-location Trial should continue to be polished and expanded rather than replaced or rebuilt.

Current development priorities

More story and dialogue
Additional character artwork
More meaningful interactions
Greater depth within the existing four locations
Improved combat clarity and strategic options
Better battle presentation
Additional discoveries, collectibles, and rewards
Improved saving and gameplay flow
Better mobile and desktop responsiveness
More replay value
A stronger finished-game presentation
